Who can apply — Posts & eligibility (short)
1) Field Engineer (Electrical)
- Qualification: Full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing & Commissioning in RE / DMS / ST / TLs / S/S etc.
- Age limit: 29 years as on 17.09.2025 (category relaxations apply).
2) Field Engineer (Civil)
- Qualification: Full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil with minimum 55% marks.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in relevant civil works in power/RE/ST/ST/etc.
3) Field Supervisor (Electrical)
- Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Electrical (minimum 55%). Higher technical qualification (B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME) is NOT allowed for Supervisor posts.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in construction/testing/commissioning/electrical works.
4) Field Supervisor (Civil)
- Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Civil (minimum 55%). Higher technical qualification not allowed.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in civil construction/testing/commissioning.
5) Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication)
- Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Electronics / E&C / IT (minimum 55%).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in design/engineering/construction/testing/operation & maintenance of Telecommunication Systems.

Reservation, Relaxation & PwBD
- Reservation and relaxations (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, ExSM, PwBD, Victims of Riots) will be as per Government of India directives. Specific relaxations in marks, age and other provisions are described in the detailed advertisement.
Compensation & benefits of POWERGRID Recruitment 2025
- Field Engineers: Initial basic ₹30,000 + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks @ 35% of Basic. Annual CTC approx ₹8.9 Lakh.
- Field Supervisors: Initial basic ₹23,000 + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks @ 35% of Basic. Annual CTC approx ₹6.8 Lakh.
- RDSS project: Perks may be variable (subject to performance criteria).
- Other benefits: EPF & EPS, gratuity, medical benefits (self and family from 2nd year), Group Personal Accident Insurance, leave entitlements (Casual, Sick, Earned), annual increment of 3% on successful completion of each year, etc.
Selection process & exam pattern
- Register for POWERGRID Common FTE Written Test-2025 (online). Ensure you meet eligibility & 1 year post-qualification experience as on last date of registration.
- Written Test (PAN India) — single day (1 hour). PwBD candidates get extra time as per Govt. norms.
- Technical Knowledge Test: 50 MCQs (based on discipline syllabus — B.Tech/BE/Diploma as applicable)
- Aptitude Test: 25 MCQs (English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness)
- Total Questions: 75 MCQs, 1 mark each. No negative marking.
- Language: Hindi or English (candidate’s option for both Test & Interview stage).
- Qualifying marks: Minimum 40% for Unreserved (30% for reserved categories — subject to reservation of vacancies).
- Field Engineer: Candidates who qualify the written test and submit consent for regional vacancies will be shortlisted for Interview by concerned Region/CC. Interview qualifying marks: 40% (UR) and 30% (reserved).
- Field Supervisor: Empanelment will be done based on written test performance (no interview stage for supervisor posts as per the advertisement). Document verification will precede offer issuance.
- Written test score is valid for 1 year from the date on scorecard.
