Eligibility of LIC AAO Recruitment 2025
Age (as on 01.08.2025)
- Minimum: 21 years (completed).
- Maximum: 30 years (born not earlier than 02.08.1995 and not later than 01.08.2004).
Relaxations in upper age limit: SC/ST +5 yrs; OBC +3 yrs; PwBD (Gen) +10 yrs; PwBD(SC/ST) +15 yrs; PwBD(OBC) +13 yrs; Ex-Servicemen & Commissioned Officers — as per rules; Confirmed LIC employees — further relaxation of 5 years.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised Indian University/Institution. Result must be declared on or before 01.08.2025. No equivalent qualification will be accepted unless specified.
Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure
Overall flow: Preliminary Exam (Phase I) → Main Examination (Phase II: objective 300 + descriptive 25) → Interview (Phase III, 60 marks) → Pre-recruitment Medical. Final merit = Main marks + Interview marks.
Preliminary (Online objective) — Total 100 marks, 1 hour. Sections:
- Reasoning Ability — 35 Q — 35 marks — 20 minutes; min qualifying marks (Others): 18.
- Quantitative Aptitude — 35 Q — 35 marks — 20 minutes; min qualifying marks (Others): 18.
- English Language — 30 Q — 30 marks — 20 minutes; marks are qualifying only (Others min: 10).
Note: No negative marking. Candidates approx. 20× vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for Mains.
Main Exam (Online) — Objective 300 marks + Descriptive 25 marks (typing). Duration objective = 2 hours + descriptive immediately after. Sections (objective):
- Reasoning Ability — 30 Q — 90 marks — 40 minutes (min qualifying: Others 45).
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs — 30 Q — 60 marks — 20 minutes (min qualifying: Others 30).
- Data Analysis & Interpretation — 30 Q — 90 marks — 40 minutes (min qualifying: Others 45).
- Insurance & Financial Market Awareness — 30 Q — 60 marks — 20 minutes (min qualifying: Others 30).
Descriptive English — Communication skills (emails, reports, précis) — 25 marks — 30 minutes (qualifying in nature). No negative marking.
Interview — Maximum 60 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/OBC/EWS — 30; SC/ST/PwBD — 27. Final merit = Main + Interview.
Application Fee & Payment
- UR / Others: ₹700 (Application Fee-cum-Intimation) + Transaction charges + GST.
- SC/ST / PwBD: ₹85 + Transaction charges + GST.
- Payment mode: Online only (debit/credit card, netbanking, mobile wallets).
Salary, Allowances & Benefits
- Basic pay: ₹88,635 per month (scale: ₹88,635–4385(14)–150025–4750(4)–169025).
- Approx. total emoluments: ~₹1,26,000/month at minimum of scale in an ‘A’ Class city (includes HRA, CCA etc.).
- Perks: Defined Contributory Pension, special allowances for professional/actuarial exams, gratuity, LTC, cash medical benefit, group mediclaim, vehicle loan facility, meal coupons, reimbursements, and more as per LIC rules
Service conditions, probation & bond
- Probation: 1 year (may be extended up to 2 years).
- Posting: Selected candidates are liable to be posted/transferred anywhere in India; many vacancies in mofussil branches and minimum posting of 5 years in mofussil branches after training is likely.
- Guarantee bond: On joining, candidates must give an undertaking to serve LIC for minimum 4 years. Early exit will attract liquidated damages of ₹5,00,000 and submission of a Deed of Indemnity (stamped & notarized).
